Welcome to the University of Nevada at Las Vegas Concrete Canoe homepage. This site's purpose is to serve as a communication base for current students, family, friends, and most importantly, the students who take on the sometimes overwhelming task of designing and building a canoe out of Portland cement concrete in the future.

canoe practice

Trial Batching

We will be working on mix design this Sunday at 8 am. Anyone interested in helping or learning about the process should come...we will be in the area behind the Civil Materials Lab in the Courtyard.

Trial Batching

Due to the difficulty of locating the Class C flyash, trial batching has been postponed until posted otherwise. It is likely that our shipment will arrive mid-next week so we can probably begin around Nov. 1. Keep an eye out for announcements in the near future!

Canoe General Meeting

There will be a Canoe Team Meeting on Friday October 12 in the great hall to discuss the completion of the hull design, incoming materials, and trial batching schedule. See you all there...

Materials

The team will be recieving its first batch of materials on friday, our Portland Cement 3 was donated by Nevada Ready Mix. We also secured a spot at the University to do all our construction and testing on campus. It will be behind the B building where the ME trailer is currently. Very exciting!!

2008 Rules and Regulations

The 2008 Rules and Regulations have been released by the National Concrete Canoe Committee. In addition, a document titled "Significant Changes" was released; this document outlines major changes between last year's rules and this year's. Please familiarize yourself with these documents, particularly to the degree that your position or involvement requires...The PDF forms of these documents will be uploaded on this site soon!
